Teacher Appreciation Week
I started this little business this past July, so when my girls began school the next month, I surprised our teachers with one of my “Come Away with Me” boards. I thought it was the perfect way to end their first week of school. (Take it home, have with a chilled glass of wine, and enjoy some quiet) Especially since they had my two tiny tornados in their class. Not to mention, we were called the first week of school due to a little attitude problem from (I won’t mention who) 😉
This was my first year to experience public school and I am amazed everyday with the conversations I now have with my five year olds. My husband mentioned the week before our girls started school this past fall that they would be spending more time with someone outside of our home than they would with us on a weekly basis. WOW, that hit me!!!
The outside influences, the bullies that would make fun of them, the friends that would last a life time, the friends that decided one day they weren’t their best friend anymore, the potty words they would come home saying because they heard it from a friend, the ever changing weather of Texas making me feel guilty for not sending them to school with a jacket, then hearing them tell me they were cold all day because of ME.
Let’s just say this year has been a learning curve. But the one thing that gave me such a peace was the fact that I left that school every morning, knowing their teachers had their best interest at heart and were willing to instruct and develop a desire to learn in my two girls at a young age.
FAST FOWARD TO MAY (Wow how did we get here so quickly)
I found out that Teacher Appreciation Week last for three weeks here in Texas! Everything is bigger in Texas, am I right!? After those three weeks conclude, many customers are looking for end of the school year gifts for their teachers as well!
So what better way to say thank you than with a custom charcuterie board! (I know some one that can make that happen for you)
